Reflexology is a therapy that stimulates reflex zones throughout the body. First, note the following precautions.
Reflexology should not be performed under these conditions:
While drinking alcohol
After reflexology massage, accelerated blood circulation can speed up alcohol circulation, causing adverse effects on the body.
During fever
Reflexology should be avoided during high or low-grade fevers. Enhanced blood circulation may exacerbate fever symptoms.
Pregnant women not in stable trimester
Reflexology stimulates the uterus and is unsuitable for pregnant women not in a stable trimester or those with a history of miscarriage.
During infectious or contagious illnesses
Reflexology massage may increase the risk of transmission or worsen the condition.
Hospitalized patients with serious illnesses, including diabetes, cerebral thrombosis, cancer, gallstones, kidney stones, or psychiatric disorders.
The three days preceding menstruation may increase bleeding volume and intensify menstrual symptoms.
Severe varicose veins, where veins appear swollen.
If you have athlete's foot, reflexology may spread the infection and potentially transmit it to others through contact.
Post-Reflexology Care Guidelines
Avoid alcohol consumption.
Drink mineral water or herbal tea to stay hydrated.
Relax your mind and body, creating a calm and leisurely environment.
Be mindful of potential reflexology side effects.
