Today, the bust is often considered a woman's second face, and many beauty-conscious women desire fuller breasts. Autologous fat transfer breast augmentation now offers a safe and effective way to achieve this. So, is massage required during the injection process? How is it performed?
Massage is required during injection:
After calculating the injection volume for each breast, a 2mm diameter needle is used to inject the harvested fat particles beneath the mammary glands and onto the surface of the pectoralis major muscle on both outer sides of the breasts. Typically, 30-150ml is injected per side during a single autologous fat transfer procedure. Local massage ensures even fat distribution to achieve the desired contour.
If excessive fat is used or injected too densely during surgery, large fat deposits may accumulate. This can lead to fat necrosis, dissolution, and absorption due to insufficient blood supply, significantly increasing the risk of infection, pain, cysts, fibrosis, calcification, breast deformity, and fat necrosis. This necessitates that the surgeon possess extensive experience and exceptional technical skill to effectively mitigate these risks.
Therefore, thorough preoperative preparation is essential:
1. Comprehensive physical examination and laboratory tests.
2. Consultation with the patient to determine incision placement, implant placement depth, and the type/size of breast implants.
3. Avoid scheduling implant-based breast augmentation during menstruation.
4. Discontinue contraceptives, estrogen-based medications, and anticoagulants like aspirin one month prior to surgery.
Fat cells transplanted into the breast undergo an initial plasma-nutrition phase. Under the influence of endogenous biological factors, they undergo revascularization, reestablishing blood supply connections with surrounding tissues to achieve complete survival.
