In the sweltering summer heat, everything becomes sticky and uncomfortable under the scorching sun. Creating a fresh, clean makeup look becomes especially important, as it allows you to appear as a refreshing breeze when you step out.So how do you create the perfect summer makeup look?
Step-by-Step Guide to Summer-Ready Makeup
Base Makeup
Step 1: Before applying foundation, start with a primer. Use the second knuckle of your index finger to press it into your skin. This ensures a more natural, seamless finish and helps improve your complexion post-makeup.
Step 2: To ensure your foundation blends seamlessly with your skin, leverage the warmth of your hands. Dab foundation three times on each cheek and forehead, twice on the chin, and once on the nose. Then, rub your palms together to warm them. Starting from the center of your nose, blend the foundation outward and downward in sweeping motions.
Step 3: The final step is concealing and highlighting. Use concealer to target minor imperfections locally. This prevents a heavy foundation look while achieving a flawless finish. For dark circles, choose a concealer one or two shades lighter than your foundation. This will conceal darkness while brightening the area. Finish by applying highlighter to the V-zone under your eyes.
Eyebrows & Eyes
Step 1: Outline your brow shape with an eyebrow pencil. Avoid emphasizing the arch too sharply—aim for a soft, natural curve. Then use brow powder to fill in sparse areas, blending from the tail toward the head with a gradient from dark to light. For those with dyed hair, follow with brow tint to even out the color. Finally, lightly dust a small amount of brow setting spray on the tail to enhance longevity. Step 2: Apply UD Eye Primer evenly around the eyes, including the under-eye area, to prepare for eyeshadow application.
Step 3: Using a slightly larger eye primer brush, pick up white eyeshadow and gently blend upward from the lash line, covering the entire eyelid.
Step 4: Pick up orange eyeshadow with the brush. Again, start at the lash line and sweep upward to the crease. Repeat the upward sweep from the lash line, reaching about halfway up the previous section. Then intensify the color at the lash line. Since this is primarily one shade, use depth and intensity to create dimension.
Step 5: Apply the remaining orange eyeshadow powder to the outer lower lash line. Hold the brush slightly upright and sweep from the outer corner toward the inner corner, stopping just below the iris.
Step 6: Use Aimei Li Single Eyeshadow #92 to intensify the outer corner. Simultaneously, use the residual powder on the brush to line the outer edge of the lower lash line, sweeping from the outer corner toward the inner corner, stopping just below the iris.
Lip Makeup
Apply coral-pink cream blush to the areas shown in the diagram, blending outward with a brush. Be mindful that cream blush can be easy to overapply—use a light touch. After moisturizing your lips, apply lip gloss evenly across the entire lip area.
