Many women experience increased vaginal discharge, often feeling dampness in their underwear. This discomfort affects their mood, leaving them uncertain if they have a gynecological condition.
So, what situations can cause increased vaginal discharge?
Healthy women under the influence of estrogen naturally produce genital tract secretions, commonly known as vaginal discharge—a white, mucus-like fluid resembling snot or saliva that flows from the vagina.
1.Yellow or white discharge, often thick and sticky but occasionally thin, typically resembling cottage cheese or curdled milk, strongly suggests candidal vaginitis.
2. Thin, pus-like discharge that is yellow and foamy, or grayish-white and rice-water-like with a foul odor, primarily indicates trichomoniasis.
3.Vaginal discharge is generally yellow, viscous like pus, and often odorless. This may indicate cervical erosion. 4. Increased discharge that is yellow and thin, often accompanied by abdominal pain, may suggest pelvic diseases such as endometritis.
5. Watery, continuous discharge may indicate fallopian tube cancer, where tumor stimulation causes epithelial fluid leakage and necrotic tissue breakdown.
6. Yellowish-purulent discharge suggests gonorrhea.
