Prepare salt water(Mix two teaspoons of salt in a 100ml bottle with boiling water). Dip a cotton ball wrapped around a toothpick into the solution and clean the nostrils. Leave the cotton ball inside temporarily. Then tilt your head back or lie flat, press both sides of the nose with your thumb and index finger, and inhale forcefully to draw the saturated cotton ball into the nasal cavity and down the throat.
Initially, the nasal irritation may feel unbearably sharp, but tolerance develops after several sessions. Alternatively, begin with a weaker saline solution and gradually increase its strength to allow the nasal passages to adapt slowly. I maintained this practice of nasal rinsing once in the morning and once at night. After over a month, my nasal passages cleared, my sense of smell sharpened, and my long-standing rhinitis was cured.
Locust Flower Honey for Atrophic Rhinitis
During morning and evening face washing, use your little finger dipped in running tap water to clean inside the nostrils, removing crusts and secretions. After fully exposing the nasal mucosa, apply commercially available locust flower honey evenly to the affected areas using a cotton swab or finger.
Garlic for Rhinitis
Crush one garlic clove, wrap it in clean muslin cloth, squeeze out the juice, and drip two drops into each nostril (this causes significant stinging pain). Press the nasal wings several times to ensure the garlic juice coats the entire nasal cavity. Mild cases may require one application; severe cases may need two before recovery.
Note: Garlic is highly irritating; start with minimal amounts. Those allergic to garlic should not use this remedy.
For use: Clear nasal passages of mucus. Wipe nostrils with a clean cotton ball. Using a thin plastic tube, have a family member gently blow the powder into the nasal passages. Plug nostrils with dry cotton balls. Best applied at bedtime. Continuous use for several days should cure.
Cold Water for Rhinitis
Wash your face with cold water instead of hot. Cup your hands to collect cold tap water, press them over your nose, inhale the cold water into your nostrils, then blow it out. Repeat several times daily.
After 10 days of this cold water therapy, my sinusitis cleared up. For over 20 years, I've never stopped using this method, and my sinusitis has never returned.
Erythromycin or Tetracycline Eye Ointment
Apply erythromycin or tetracycline eye ointment to a sterilized cotton swab. Insert it into the nasal cavity and evenly coat the inside. Ensure the entire nasal cavity is covered each time. Apply twice daily. Most cases of rhinitis will resolve within 3 to 5 days with no residual effects.
Sesame Oil Drops
Apply sesame oil—ordinary edible sesame oil—into the nose. Use approximately five drops per application, three to five times daily.
Note: Avoid application during severe congestion. Adjust posture to clear nasal passages first, then blow your nose thoroughly before applying. Consistent use guarantees results. This method is also reportedly effective for common rhinitis.
Self-Management for Allergic Rhinitis
Before washing your face daily, insert your nostrils into cold water and gently inhale, allowing the cold water to fully contact the nasal mucosa. Then exhale the water. Repeat this process for 1-3 minutes (you may lift your head to breathe). After washing your face, use your middle finger to press and rub both sides of the nasal wings about 20 times. Consistency is key.
Orbital Massage
Place your index fingers on the shallow indentations along the orbital bones beneath each eye. Apply moderate pressure and massage up and down 100-200 times. Perform this at least twice daily; consistent application will yield results over time.
Garlic Vinegar: Powerful Remedy for Rapid Rhinitis Relief
Peel garlic cloves, place them in a wine jar, and fill with vinegar until the cloves are fully submerged. Seal tightly. After one month, open the jar. Consume the garlic while using a small-mouth bottle to collect the garlic vinegar. Each evening, inhale the steam directed toward both nostrils for 30 minutes. This effectively treats allergic rhinitis. Patients may wish to try it.
Boiled Daikon Radish for Nasal Congestion
Place 3-4 daikon radishes in a pot with water and bring to a boil. Immediately inhale the steam through your nose. Within minutes, nasal passages will clear and headaches subside. Subsequently, I often slice radish and steep it in a cup, inhaling the steam through my nose. This remedy has prevented recurrence of the condition.
