Old cold legs fall under the category of bi syndrome in traditional Chinese medicine and should adhere to the principle of "warming the meridians, unblocking the channels, dispelling cold, and removing dampness."
One Medicated Patch: Dispels Cold and Dampness
Cooling Patch Formula and Medicinal Actions:
Cinnamon Bark: Dispels wind and dampness, tonifies kidney yang; Dictamnus: Opens joints, dispels wind, dampness, and cold; Asarum: Dispels cold and relieves pain; Evodia: Enters spleen, stomach, and liver meridians to direct cold downward;Proportion: 2:2:1:1.
Preparation Method: Grind the four herbs into powder, mix with honey into a paste, apply to the Pain-Relieving and Dampness-Expelling Plaster, and affix to the painful and cold areas.
Tip: Asarum is toxic and should not be ingested; it is for external use only. Do not exceed 3g of Asarum in external applications.

Though initially cool when applied to the legs, the herbs possess warming and dampness-dispelling properties. As they permeate the meridians, they gradually activate, generating warmth that deepens over time. For those with persistently cold knees, legs, and feet that are difficult to warm, try the following foot soak recipe. Simply soaking in hot water alone is ineffective; adding herbs that tonify the kidneys, strengthen tendons and bones, dispel wind-cold-dampness, and remove dampness will yield better results.
Foot Soak Formula: Dispels Cold, Strengthens Bones and Tendons
Ingredients: 10g each of Black Aconite Root, Achyranthes Root, Epimedium Herb, and Dipsacus Root.
Preparation & Usage: Purchase 10g of each herb. Add an equal amount of water to the herbs and simmer for about 30 minutes. This formula can be reused approximately 3 times.
This method is for reference only. Consult a physician before use.
