Pregnancy is a unique physiological period. During this time, you require an exceptionally healthy living environment. Habits detrimental to becoming a healthy expectant mother must be completely eliminated from your life—even if only temporarily. "Never forget your identity, even if you're just a young woman aspiring to motherhood. To conceive a healthy baby, first commit to a healthy lifestyle for yourself."
Pregnancy is a unique physiological period. During this time, you need an exceptionally healthy living environment. Certain habits detrimental to becoming a healthy expectant mother must be completely eliminated from your life—even if only temporarily.
1. Frequent Sexual Activity
Appropriate sexual activity during pregnancy can strengthen marital bonds and promote fetal growth and development. However, due to the psychological changes expectant mothers experience after conception, the frequency of sexual activity should also be adjusted accordingly.
After conception, you may notice a sudden increase in vaginal discharge, accompanied by significantly reduced resistance to bacteria in the vulva. Frequent intercourse can lead to vaginal bacterial infections, which may stimulate uterine contractions and cause miscarriage or premature birth.During pregnancy, the placenta gradually forms and develops daily. Frequent intercourse subjects the uterus to repeated pressure, hindering placental development. Orgasms can trigger excessive uterine contractions, potentially causing chorioamnionitis. This weakens the elasticity of the amniotic sac, increasing the risk of miscarriage or premature birth.
Pregnancy Sexual Activity Schedule:
1. First trimester: Sexual activity should be avoided or minimized.
2. Second trimester: Maintain moderate frequency, ideally once per week.
3. Third trimester: Abstain from sexual activity.
2. Prolonged computer use
Even before conception, couples planning pregnancy should limit combined weekly computer exposure to under 20 hours.Computers emit electromagnetic radiation, including X-rays, ultraviolet rays, visible light, infrared rays, and electromagnetic fields at ultra-high, high, medium, and extremely low frequencies, as well as static electric fields. Prolonged exposure can cause varying degrees of damage to sperm, eggs, fertilized eggs, embryos, and fetuses.
When using computers for extended periods, expectant mothers experience heightened mental concentration and excessive nervous tension. Combined with environmental factors like low-frequency noise, radiation, and electromagnetic waves, this can disrupt fetal development, increasing the risk of miscarriage, difficult labor, premature birth, and birth defects.Expectant mothers should avoid prolonged sitting to prevent pelvic blood stagnation and must not spend extended periods online. When using a computer, ensure the height of the computer and chair are properly adjusted for comfort to support the healthy development of the fetus.
Expert Advice:
During early pregnancy (within the first three months), embryonic cells undergo critical cell division and organ differentiation. Minimize computer exposure during this period. In mid-to-late pregnancy, maintain a safe distance even during occasional use. If possible, wear protective clothing and shower/change clothes after use.
3. Certain Household Chores
Engaging in manageable household tasks during pregnancy is beneficial. While perfection isn't required, light chores can serve as gentle exercise as long as they don't cause fatigue. In the first trimester, physical mobility is relatively unrestricted. However, significant bodily changes in the second and third trimesters can lead to clumsiness, necessitating careful consideration of chore types and duration.
Avoid tasks requiring prolonged bending or squatting, such as mopping floors or weeding gardens. Extended squatting can cause pelvic congestion, potentially leading to miscarriage—especially dangerous in late pregnancy and strictly prohibited.
When hanging laundry, the upward reaching motion requires significant abdominal strain. Prolonged activity may also increase miscarriage risk.
While cooking, sit on a chair whenever possible to prevent leg fatigue and swelling. During morning sickness, be mindful that cooking odors may trigger nausea or allergies.
When shopping, choose less crowded times and routes. If necessary, split large purchases into multiple trips. Opt for walking over cycling, especially during early pregnancy. Cycling requires excessive leg exertion, which can strain the abdomen and increase miscarriage risk.
