Beyond the common procedures we hear about daily—liposuction, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation—there are other surgeries that are less complex and carry lower risks. Their effects might not immediately suggest cosmetic surgery as the solution, yet post-procedure, they can make you look distinctly unique.
Prominent Ears
Ears aren't typically considered the most beautiful feature on a woman. When long hair is worn down, they're often hidden behind it, rarely seen. Yet in traditional Eastern culture, the shape and size of ears are linked to one's fortune. Large earlobes are said to bring good luck, while long earlobes signify longevity. However, ears that stick out like ET's are likely to be ridiculed. In Western eyes, an elegant woman shouldn't have tall, large auricles either, as they symbolize foolishness. Standard Ears Beautiful ears should have moderate length and width with graceful curves; full-shaped lobes; and a moderate outward tilt of the auricle. The overall size of the ear should harmonize with the face's proportions and length, while its shape complements the facial structure—no two individuals share identical patterns. Generally, we judge aesthetic normality by whether ears "draw undue attention." Non-standard ears Prominent ears are relatively common. While they don't impair hearing, they're often considered unattractive. These ears protrude like a monkey's ears on either side of the head, with both ears facing forward. The distance between the auricle and the underlying bone exceeds two centimeters. The upper inner edge of protruding ears typically forms a smooth, bowl-like shape, lacking the cartilaginous fold that creates a protrusion. This resembles bat ears or the ears of the alien character ET.Surgical Correction Methods Currently, over 200 techniques exist for otoplasty. Typically, an incision is made behind the ear, and the cartilage is folded backward and reshaped. The procedure does not require hospitalization. Sutures are removed after 5–7 days, and patients should primarily maintain a supine sleeping position post-surgery. During cartilage reshaping, specialized techniques are used to scrape the folded surface, promoting better adherence of the cartilage to the sides of the head.
Important Notes:
This procedure corrects protruding ears by reshaping skin and cartilage. Surgery typically takes about 2 hours. It's worth noting that even if only one ear is affected, bilateral correction is recommended for aesthetic balance.

Arched Eyebrows
Borrowing a phrase from a book: Eyebrows are like the frame of a painting, enhancing the beauty of the eyes. Perfect eyebrows are like dancing musical notes, expressing the joys and sorrows of facial expressions. Imperfect eyebrows make one feel like you're always missing an expression—whether it's joy or happiness.Truthfully, eyebrows are the easiest feature to fix—trimming or even shaving them off is simple. But if your natural shape is problematic and you dislike constantly shaving and drawing them, surgery offers a solution! Standard Eyebrow Shape
Typically, the eyebrow arch should curve slightly higher than the upper eyelid's arc, with the inner brow point directly above the inner corner of the eye.The distance between the inner corners of the eyebrows should be approximately equal to the length of one eye. The arch peak is positioned at the outer one-third of the distance from the tail to the inner corner. The tail end and inner corner should align roughly on the same horizontal line, while the arch peak represents the highest point of the eyebrow curve.
Non-standard eyebrows
Downward-sloping brows, also known as "eight-character brows," slope outward and downward. The inner end is higher than the outer end, creating a sorrowful appearance. While the downward slope conveys gentleness, excessive downward curvature can make one look perpetually frowning. Eyebrow Lift Surgery
This procedure corrects drooping eyebrows.Typically involves two surgical approaches:
Periosteal Fixation Method:
A 2–3 cm incision is made at the middle-outer third of the eyebrow. A crescent-shaped skin segment (≤1 cm high) is excised above the incision. The eyebrow skin is then elevated upward with sutures and fixed at the optimal height.
Incision Along Upper Eyelid Crease (Fold Line) Method:
This technique involves making an incision along the natural fold line of the double eyelid. Alternatively, the incision can be made during double eyelid surgery, extending upward to the frontalis muscle. During dissection, care must be taken not to proceed too high (generally no more than 2 cm above the eyebrow margin) to avoid damaging the supraorbital nerve. The eyebrow muscle is then suspended onto the frontal periosteum with sutures. After adjusting the eyebrow height to the optimal position, the sutures are knotted to secure it. Finally, the eyelid skin incision is sutured closed. The goal of the brow lift procedure is to elevate drooping eyebrow tails. This can be achieved by excising appropriate amounts of skin and subcutaneous tissue at the junction of the lower and upper eyelid margins, thereby adjusting the height and shape of the eyebrows.
Local dressing is required for 24 hours post-surgery, with sutures removed after 7 days. Scars along the upper brow margin may remain visible for up to 3 months post-surgery but can be camouflaged with eyebrow pencil. Generally, scars fade or become less noticeable within 6 months.
Adjusting the Hairline
Would you have imagined how significantly the hairline influences facial contours? In fact, the height and shape of your hairline subtly accentuate your facial structure and features. The hairline defines the forehead, which in turn shapes the face. A slight adjustment to a hairline that is too high or too low can yield unexpected improvements to your facial contours. The Ideal Hairline
The hairline marks the boundary between the face and the hair roots. Its shape and height affect the harmony of facial features. According to ancient Chinese aesthetics, it should adhere to the "three-court five-eye" proportion: equal distance between the hairline, eyebrow line, and nasal base line, with the face spanning exactly five eye widths. In general aesthetics, a high hairline conveys nobility. A standard hairline features a soft, clean transition where it meets the forehead, avoiding extremes of being too high or too low.
Non-standard Hairline
Excessive hair at the forehead or temple edges can make the hairline appear too low or narrow, resulting in an untidy hairstyle that detracts from the overall facial effect. A high hairline may contribute to an aged appearance; conversely, a low hairline on both sides can accentuate cheekbones, creating a sunken rather than lifted facial contour.
Hairline Adjustment Surgery
First, hairline adjustment surgery differs from hairline trimming. The latter involves removing stray or coarse baby hairs—which can be plucked (though potentially painful) or treated with laser therapy that destroys hair roots and follicles, essentially following the same principle as hair removal. As for refining the beauty spot, this involves custom hairline sculpting based on individual preferences. If you have a significantly low or high hairline, surgical correction is recommended.
