The rubber pad and metal clamp on the eyelash curler are most prone to mascara buildup. Residual mascara can corrode the rubber pad. Therefore, use eye and lip makeup remover to clean it. Additionally, disinfect the curler daily with an alcohol wipe. Replace the rubber pad immediately once it becomes dirty to maintain the health of your eye area and eyes.
Cleaning Instructions:
Step 1: Apply an appropriate amount of eye and lip makeup remover to a cotton pad.
Step 2: Wipe away stains on the eyelash curler using the cotton pad soaked in the remover.
Step 3: Your eyelash curler will be clean and look like new.
Care Tips:
1. Curl lashes before applying mascara to prevent dirtying the curler.
2. Wipe away residue with tissue after each use.
3. Avoid excessive pressure when curling, as it shortens the rubber pad's lifespan and damages lashes.
4. Replace the rubber pad if it shows signs of aging, cracking, or breaking, as damaged pads can damage lashes.
5. Store brushes and eyelash curlers in a pencil case (with a dust cover) or dedicated brush case.
II. Dry and Wet Puffs & Sponges
Puffs, sponges, and eyeshadow applicators are best used as disposable items. These tools strongly absorb makeup and are prone to contamination. Many beauty stores sell disposable sponges and applicators, offering an affordable and hygienic solution without bacterial concerns.
If your sponges or puffs are high-end, you can clean them with either brush cleanser or soap. Soap contains alkali, which effectively removes powder residue. After washing, always air-dry them thoroughly and ensure they are completely dry before reuse to prevent further contamination from lingering moisture.
Since powder puffs and sponges get dirty quickly, it's best to have two or more on hand for rotation. Use separate puffs or sponges for different shades of foundation to prevent color mixing and ensure even application. After regular use, scrub them with a neutral cleanser or soap, then air-dry in a well-ventilated area.
Cleaning Instructions:
Step 1: Thoroughly wet the puff.
Step 2: Rub the wet puff against a washcloth until lather forms.
Step 3: Continue pressing the puff until all residual powder is removed.
Step 4: Place in a well-ventilated area to air dry naturally.
Care Tips:
1. After washing, do not wring the puff by hand. Instead, roll it in a towel to remove excess moisture, then air-dry thoroughly in a shaded area.
2. Replace the puff when it no longer feels soft and comfortable against the skin or when the edges appear frayed.
3. Store the puff separately in a box to keep it clean and prevent color transfer with other makeup products.
III. Your Portable Makeup Bag
A makeup bag is an essential carry-all for every woman, yet it's also a prime spot for harboring grime.Inspect your bag—is the lining stained with colorful makeup residue? Since you frequently access it for touch-ups, neglecting regular cleaning or replacement can harm your skin. If using a fabric pouch, wash it weekly and replace it annually.
Cleaning method:
Regardless of material, regularly cleaning the contents is key to maintaining a hygienic bag. Use diluted alcohol (7 parts alcohol to 3 parts distilled water) on a towel or tissue to wipe down the outer surfaces and packaging of cosmetics and skincare products. This keeps your bag's contents spotless and ensures worry-free touch-ups!
For thorough disinfection ensuring 100% bacterial elimination, use disinfectant solution!
Step 1: Pour approximately 1/8 cup capful of disinfectant solution into a small cup of water.
Step 2: Immerse makeup tools in the solution for 1-2 minutes.
Step 3: Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
IV. Makeup Brushes
For brushes used daily, clean them weekly with a specialized brush cleanser. Alternatively, dilute shampoo or a mild facial cleanser with warm water. Less frequently used brushes only need cleaning every one to two months.
Cleaning Method:
Step1: Add a small amount of makeup brush cleaner or shampoo to warm water. Gently swish the brush in the solution.
Step 3: Rinse thoroughly with clean water, using your fingers to gently separate the bristles for thorough cleansing.
Step 4: Wrap the clean brush in a paper towel and gently squeeze out excess water. Then, fluff the bristles to restore their softness and original shape.
Step5: Place the brush in a cool, well-ventilated area to air dry. Never use a hair dryer.
Step6: Once dry, gently massage the bristles with your hands and lightly flick them with your fingers to restore their fluffy texture. Then, store it back in your brush holder.
