Even in first class, the confined space and recirculated air on planes can take a toll on your skin—long-haul flights are especially harsh. Those who work in air-conditioned environments for extended periods face similar challenges. Flaking indicates the stratum corneum's moisture content has dropped below 10%, causing cells that once stood tightly packed to become loose, dry, and brittle, losing their protective function.A comprehensive hydration routine can be achieved by combining mist, toner, moisturizer, and day cream.
1. Begin with an exfoliating cleanser (such as Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser) to thoroughly remove dead, flaking cells, restoring skin to a smooth, supple state.
2. After cleansing, spray a hydrating mist to saturate the newly exposed surface cells with moisture, allowing them to absorb water quickly and boost epidermal hydration.
3. Pat away excess moisture with a tissue, then gently sweep a hydrating essence-infused toner across the entire face to ensure every cell is nourished.Wait one minute for partial absorption and rest. Rub a generous amount of moisturizer between your palms, then press it over cheeks, forehead, chin, and nose in a mask-like layer. Allow the skin to gradually absorb it.
4. After about 20 minutes, the skin's surface may show signs of dryness again. Reapply a small amount of moisturizer to fully quench the skin. Then, seal in the hydration with a nourishing day cream that forms a breathable lipid barrier to prevent moisture loss.
