Skin concerns are a top priority for every woman. So how do you determine your skin type? And how to care for it properly?
How to Identify Your Skin Type
Skin types are generally categorized into five: oily, dry, normal, combination, and sensitive.
Oily Skin: The face often appears shiny, with enlarged pores and a coarse texture. The skin is thick and prone to acne and blackheads, but less susceptible to wrinkles and age spots.
Dry Skin: Appears smooth but becomes dry and flaky during seasonal changes. Prone to wrinkles and age spots, rarely develops pimples or acne. Feels rough to the touch; pressing lightly with a finger reveals fine lines.
Normal Skin: Skin feels smooth and elastic, neither dry nor oily. It may feel drier in colder weather and occasionally appear shiny in summer. It is relatively sun-resistant and not sensitive to external irritants.
Combination Skin: The forehead, nose, and chin are shiny and prone to acne, while the rest of the face tends to be dry.
Sensitive Skin: Characterized by thin, inherently fragile skin lacking elasticity. It reddens and develops small bumps during seasonal changes or temperature fluctuations. Superficial capillaries are prone to rupture, forming visible red threads.
How to Properly Care for Your Skin in Autumn
1. Cleansing: If your skin is generally healthy, use a facial cleanser to thoroughly cleanse your face and neck. For oily skin, choose a targeted oil-control cleanser and cleanse using a foaming method.
2. Toner: Whether applying a mask or patting toner onto the skin, both methods hydrate effectively. Only when skin is thoroughly hydrated can it maintain elasticity.
3. Lotion: Apply evenly to the chin and cheeks using an upward, outward motion from the lower part of the face, as if drawing an oval shape.
