"Creativity" holds particular relevance for future life. As computers advance, "memorization" loses its paramount importance. What truly matters is the ability to solve problems with innovative perspectives and attitudes.
Therefore, nurturing children's "creativity" will become a cornerstone of education—and family education is no exception.Scientific research indicates that human bodily tissues continue developing from birth through adulthood. This process involves the constant replacement of old cells with new ones. However, the brain differs from other body parts: while its weight increases with age, the number of brain cells remains constant from birth and does not grow further. As the body matures, brain cells extend numerous synapses, and nerve fibers develop myelin sheaths—a process known as myelination.Areas governing movement and sensation undergo myelination earlier, while regions dedicated to higher-order thinking develop myelin later. Neurons require interconnected networks—known as neural circuits—to function. Well-organized circuits enhance cognitive abilities.
These functional developments begin during fetal stages. By around age three, most development is complete, though more intricate circuitry continues to grow. Development is largely finished by fourth or fifth grade. Therefore, the period before fourth or fifth grade is the golden stage for intellectual development—the critical time experts emphasize for fostering creativity.

However, scientific experiments indicate that IQ is significantly influenced by genetics, with acquired efforts having only a minor impact. Fortunately, "creativity," which is equally important as "IQ," is highly malleable. It can yield satisfactory results through "training," and once developed, it does not disappear.
What exactly is creativity?
Creativity correlates somewhat with IQ, but the relationship is not absolute. Generally speaking, individuals with high IQs do not necessarily possess high creativity; conversely, those with strong creativity typically require at least average IQ.
Beyond "intellect," creativity encompasses five vital abilities: perceptiveness, adaptability, originality, perseverance, and fluency.
When parents rearrange a child's room and the child instantly spots every change without missing a single detail, it indicates exceptionally high perceptiveness.
When a teacher asks, "What are the uses of a teacup?" the child who generates the most answers within a limited time demonstrates superior fluency.
Flexibility refers to a child's ability to view problems from different angles.For example, if asked, "What would you drink if thirsty in the desert?" Child A answers "boiled water," "soda," or "coffee," while Child B answers "cactus juice," then Child B demonstrates greater adaptability than Child A.
Originality means conceiving novel perspectives with practical outcomes. All inventors possess exceptional originality.
As for refinement, it means thinking from a more meticulous and detailed perspective. For instance, understanding to apply a layer of wax to a paper boat to prevent it from getting soaked—this "extra layer of wax" thinking exemplifies refinement.
