On May 18, the inaugural Guangzhou Greater Bay Area Biomedical and Health Roundtable Summit, themed "Pursuing Health Dreams, Illuminating the Bay Area," convened in Guangzhou. During the event, Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group spearheaded the establishment of the International Innovation Achievement Transformation Alliance for Biomedical and Health.
This summit ranks among China's most prestigious industry gatherings in recent years. Attendees included Huang Luqi, Xu Tao, Liu Changxiao, Liao Wanqing, Tang Xican, Yin Yulong, Su Guohui,Pei Gang, Chen Yeguang, Rao Zihe, and other 10 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, along with Kim Nam-hyung, Academician of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAST), National Masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine Xun Guowei and Zhou Daihan, and nearly 100 experts and scholars from research institutes across China's biomedical and health sector. They jointly explored the industry's development strategy and discussed opportunities and challenges in the Greater Bay Area's biomedical and health field.

Dr. Murad assisted in the secondary development of Baiyunshan Compound Danshen Tablets. Years of clinical trials have confirmed the product's unique efficacy in preventing and treating senile dementia.
To date, Baiyunshan Compound Danshen Tablets have secured over a dozen patents, including those for dementia prevention and treatment, as well as scientific formulations of active ingredients. Academician Su Guohui, an attending expert, noted that the presence of Danshen in the tablets promotes cerebrovascular health.

Strengthening Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao cooperation, the development of the Greater Bay Area's biomedical and health industry is timely.Baiyunshan and Huangzhong Medicine consistently adhere to the principle of "innovation-driven, science-led," establishing multi-level cooperative relationships with institutions such as the University of Hong Kong, the University of Macau, and the Macau University of Science and Technology. This has fostered an integrated innovation ecosystem advancing research, education, industry, and application. Scientific projects like Baiyunshan Banlangen have powerfully driven the pharmaceutical industry's clustering in Guangdong, accelerating its development and global expansion.
Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Baiyunshan holds a leading position domestically in the research and development of traditional Chinese medicine and TCM health products.The Baiyunshan Naoxinqing Tablets research achieved a major breakthrough, winning the Second Prize of the 2014 National Science and Technology Progress Award. Rooted in theoretical innovation, this research focused on diseases related to dysregulation of glucose and lipid metabolism, with hyperlipidemia as the primary entry point. It conducted a series of studies on clinical efficacy, the material basis, and mechanisms of action of representative formulas, significantly enhancing the therapeutic efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine in preventing and treating metabolic disorders.Naoxinqing Tablets, an exclusively produced national protected TCM variety by Baiyunshan and Huangzhongyao, is included in the Community Prevention and Treatment Guidelines for Cerebrovascular Diseases. Academician Liu Changxiao of the Chinese Academy of Engineering stated in an interview that as a major TCM product for preventing and treating cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, the exclusive Naoxinqing product is "highly distinctive." Its single source of raw materials ensures stable supply, providing a solid clinical foundation and demonstrating mature performance over the years.
Baiyunshan Banlangen Granules exemplify the principle of "refining common herbs and revitalizing traditional formulas," serving as a cornerstone in the modernization and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine.Since 2007, Guangzhou Baiyunshan Hutchison China Herbal Medicine Co., Ltd. has collaborated with a team of experts and academicians to establish the "State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Diseases." After over a decade of joint research, the team discovered that the active components in Baiyunshan Banlangen—including polysaccharides, lignans, and indoles—possess dual antiviral and anti-inflammatory effects.
In October 2020, Baiyunshan Hutchison Chinese Medicine formally signed the "Memorandum of Understanding for the Macao Transformation of Baiyunshan Banlangen Research Achievements" with Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group (Macao) International Development Industry Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Institute of Respiratory Health, and the University of Science and Technology of Macao. The scientific achievements of Baiyunshan Banlangen and Compound Banlangen will be industrialized in Macao, marking the first project to be implemented since the establishment of Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group's Macao International Headquarters.Currently, Baiyunshan Banlangen has achieved new breakthroughs in secondary development, with prospects for evolving into a new traditional Chinese medicine with enhanced quality control standards and stronger therapeutic efficacy. The project has completed the packaging design and registration for the Macau version of Banlangen, obtained Macau's "Pre-Approval for Imported Traditional Medicines," and is establishing a production base at Macau's Qingzhou Industrial Park.
