Massaging these 4 acupoints promotes wellness for all life stages!
1. Hegu (LI4) Acupoint
Massaging Hegu calms nerves, relieves pain, clears heat, and resolves surface symptoms, aiding in treating head and facial ailments. For toothaches, fever, headaches, or dizziness caused by wind-heat colds, press Hegu until the area feels numb, sore, and distended.
If accompanied by fever, use a spoon to scrape the skin at the back of the neck until it turns red or purple. This expels internal heat toxins and aids fever reduction.
2. Tongwei (ST36) Acupoint
Pressing Tongwei (ST36) on the outer ankle bone (just below the ankle joint) stimulates blood circulation, strengthens the spleen, and regulates qi. It is particularly effective for fatigue, weakness, and digestive issues. If accompanied by fever, use a spoon to perform gua sha on the skin at the back of the neck until the area turns red or purple. This helps expel internal heat toxins and reduce fever.
2. Zhongwan (CV12) and Guanyuan (CV4) Points
Individuals with poor stomach function can press the Zhongwan point.During acute stomach pain, press with your finger for about 10 seconds, then release. Repeat this pressing and releasing for three minutes to promote digestion and relieve pain. The Guanyuan point is located at the navel. Massaging this point can delay aging and replenish kidney qi. When massaging Guanyuan, first rub your palms together to warm them, then rub the point continuously from light to firm pressure until the area feels warm.
3. Neiguan (PC6) and Yanglingquan (GB34) Points
Massaging Neiguan promotes overall qi and blood circulation. Daily thumb massage for three minutes until the area feels pleasantly numb not only protects the heart but also alleviates dry throat, headaches, frozen shoulder, and cervical spondylosis.Massaging the Yanglingquan point combined with shoulder movements can relieve shoulder pain while also aiding in the treatment of rib discomfort, chest tightness, and intercostal neuralgia.
4. Zusanli (ST36) and Sanyinjiao (SP6) Points
Massaging Zusanli aids in treating stomach pain and diarrhea caused by cold stomach, gastroenteritis, cerebral hemorrhage due to arteriosclerosis, and coronary heart disease. It also reduces work and life stress while alleviating physical fatigue.Massaging Sanyinjiao (SP6) helps maintain ovarian health and fat metabolism, regulates menstruation, and aids in reducing facial melasma, wrinkles, and acne. Consistent daily massage for three minutes over three months can alleviate dysmenorrhea and menstrual irregularities, though it is unsuitable for pregnant women.
Friendly Reminder
During massage, maintain full-body relaxation and focused concentration without excessive tension.Master the method of locating the acupoint and the technique of operation to ensure accuracy. Apply appropriate pressure during massage—too little force may fail to achieve the desired stimulation effect, while too much pressure can cause fatigue or even damage the skin. Follow the principle of gradual progression in massage therapy: start with a small amount and increase gradually, and apply pressure from light to heavy.
