How to Improve Sleep for Women: We often admire other women's beauty, yet we only see their glamorous exteriors without realizing the hard work behind that radiance. As living standards rise, so does stress. More and more women face pressures from work, life, and family, leading many to struggle with insomnia. So, what methods can help women sleep better?
Methods to Improve Women's Sleep
1. Foot Soaking for Better Sleep
When soaking your feet, consider adding a pinch of salt to the water. Saltwater disinfects, prevents athlete's foot, and smooths the skin on your feet. Additionally, the ideal water temperature is around 40°C (104°F). If the water cools, keep adding hot water. Adding salt helps the water stay warm longer, enhancing the soaking effect.
1. Specific Method
Add a teaspoon of salt to a basin of hot water. Soak for 15–30 minutes, until your body begins to warm up and sweat slightly. While soaking, rub one foot against the other to loosen muscles and tendons, promoting blood circulation. Massaging the Yongquan point (located one-third of the foot's length from the toes) can further aid sleep and delay aging. The best time is between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., about an hour after dinner, as this coincides with the peak activity period of the kidney meridian for enhanced benefits.7 p.m., about an hour after meals, as this is when the kidney meridian is most active for optimal results.
2. Maintain proper water temperature and duration
In spring and winter, foot soak water should not be excessively hot or cold. Many mistakenly believe hotter water is better as long as tolerable, but this is a misconception. Ideal water temperature ranges from 38°C to 43°C (98.6°F to 111°F).Excessively high temperatures can cause burns, trigger palpitations, or even lead to sudden death. Diabetics and those with sensitive skin must be especially cautious, as scalding water can cause severe burns with potentially life-threatening consequences.
3. Precautions
Foot soaking isn't suitable for all women. Pregnant women should avoid it during pregnancy, as it may stimulate the sexual reflex zones, potentially affecting both maternal and fetal health.Ensure proper duration and temperature to avoid unnecessary harm. II. Sleep-Promoting Methods 1. Sour Jujube Seed Decoction Crush 3 grams of sour jujube seeds, boil in water, and consume one hour before bedtime.Jujube seeds inhibit the central nervous system, providing consistent sedative effects. They are particularly effective for insomnia or palpitations caused by blood deficiency. 2. Calming Decoction Boil 3 grams each of longan flesh and Sichuan salvia root in two bowls of water until reduced to half a bowl. Consume 30 minutes before bedtime. This achieves a sedative effect, especially beneficial for insomnia caused by heart blood deficiency.
3. Longan and Lotus Seed Soup
Boil 2 ounces each of longan and lotus seeds into a soup. This nourishes the heart, calms the spirit, strengthens the spleen, and tonifies the kidneys. It is most suitable for middle-aged and elderly individuals, as well as those with chronic insomnia.

Strain, then cook with washed rice and water. Add brown sugar after the rice is cooked. This porridge nourishes qi and blood while calming the spirit, significantly improving symptoms of palpitations (rapid heartbeat), forgetfulness, insomnia, and excessive dreaming.
5. Calming Spirit Decoction
