Wild chrysanthemum is not only used in traditional Chinese medicine, but its leaves and petals can also be applied topically for facial beauty treatments for acne sufferers. It can be brewed as tea for acne patients to drink, offering benefits of clearing heat, calming the mind, and improving vision. Additionally, wild chrysanthemum petals can be used as a beauty mask for acne-prone skin.
Adults should consume 3-5 ounces of fresh wild chrysanthemum daily, either decocted and taken in two doses or crushed to extract approximately 100ml of juice for a single intake. Alternatively, crush the petals and apply directly to acne-affected areas, replacing once slightly dry. If topical application is inconvenient, decoct the flowers and use the liquid to wash the affected areas.
Mix 10-15 grams of wild chrysanthemum pollen with milk into a paste. Apply evenly to the acne-affected face, leave on for 20-30 minutes, then rinse off. This clears skin toxins, reduces inflammation, and prevents acne scars.
Acne-prone skin often feels itchy. Wild chrysanthemum also serves as an anti-itch agent: Combine 30g each of Sophora flavescens root, Phellodendron bark, and wild chrysanthemum with 15g each of Phellodendron bark and Cnidium monnieri. Decoct into a decoction, pour into a bath tub, and add warm water until the affected area is submerged. Bathe once daily for 30 minutes per session.

Use one dose per day for 7-10 consecutive days. Concurrently, apply fresh wild chrysanthemum leaves, crushed and applied to the affected area. Alternatively, crush 15 grams of wild chrysanthemum (including stems), add a small amount of wine, decoct, and drink while hot 2-3 times daily. Apply the remaining residue externally to the affected area.Alternatively, crush 10g each of wild chrysanthemum and cocklebur, add a small amount of wine, extract the juice, and drink. Or combine 15g wild chrysanthemum with 15g dandelion, 15g purple groundsel,15 grams of purple-backed daylily seeds, and 20 grams of honeysuckle to make a decoction for oral use, three times daily.
