Advertisements for calcium supplements and bone health products are everywhere, overwhelming consumers. Experts remind us that the simplest and most practical way to strengthen bones is to increase vegetable intake in your diet, especially by adding onions when stir-frying for optimal results.
Onions, also known as allium cepa, have been cultivated as a vegetable for over 5,000 years. In Western countries, onions are hailed as the "Queen of Vegetables," appearing in Western cuisine, salads, and hamburgers. Scientific analysis shows that every 100 grams of onions contain 40 mg of calcium, 50 mg of phosphorus, 1.8 mg of iron, and 8 mg of vitamin C, along with carotene, vitamin B1, and niacin.
Additionally, sun-dried radish can help supplement calcium and strengthen bones. To prepare, soak the dried radish, squeeze out excess water, then marinate in soy sauce for 6-7 hours. Remove the radish, drain the soy sauce, and mix with chili powder, minced garlic, minced ginger, and sugar. Toss well before serving.
