Can There Be Pure Friendship Between Opposite Sexes?

In life, everyone has friends, more or less.
But how many people can truly have a few opposite-sex friends?
Or rather, can pure friendship be maintained between men and women?
Perhaps in a man's eyes, interacting with the opposite sex purely as friends is something they rarely consider.
It could also be said that men, to some degree, have certain feelings toward a woman before choosing to be friends with her.
Regardless of the relationship, it always begins as friendship.
Women's perspectives may be simpler.
Perhaps she befriends someone of the opposite sex purely as a friend.
Perhaps she finds the person likable, seeing it as simply gaining another friend.
Perhaps this is tied to gender differences.
Yet maintaining a purely platonic relationship between men and women remains challenging.
It's not impossible, but the odds are slim.
Men rarely approach someone they don't like—unless they're trying to push past the friendship boundary.
The outcome is usually one of two: either they remain friends, or they become lovers.
