Kneading: Sit upright. Place both hands with fingers together on the left and right sides of the lumbar spine, palms facing inward. Gently knead up and down until warmth develops.
Rolling: Make fists with both hands and place them on the waist. Roll and massage outward in a circular motion, moving from bottom to top and back down repeatedly. The head can be tilted forward and backward in coordination.
Scraping: Place both hands on your waist with thumbs forward. Press firmly on the sides of your waist without moving. Use the pads of your remaining four fingers to scrape outward along the skin from the waist points to the lower back. Perform this simultaneously with both hands, scraping 36 times each.
Press: Sit upright. Use the tips of both middle fingers to press the Weizhong acupoints (behind the knees) on each leg. Press for 1-2 minutes until a sensation of soreness, numbness, or fullness develops in the pressed area.
Tap: Make fists with both hands, palms facing outward. Lightly tap the waist without causing pain. Perform simultaneously on both sides, tapping 30 times each.
Shake: Place both hands on the waist, with the palms facing inward. Rapidly shake the hands up and down 15-20 times, pressing the base of the palms against the waist area.
Press: Sit down and use the tip of the left or right middle finger to press and knead the Renzhong acupoint for 1-2 minutes.
Push: Rub hands together until warm, then place them overlapping over the center of the lumbar spine. Push and rub downward 30-50 times until warmth develops locally.
Press: Place hands on hips with thumbs pressing into the waist points. Apply firm pressure while rotating and kneading, first clockwise then counterclockwise for 36 rotations each.
Grasp: Sit with legs extended forward, knees bent, or in an upright position. Use both hands to grasp and release the lumbar muscles 15-20 times.
