As modern aesthetic standards rise, beauty enthusiasts increasingly prioritize their appearance. Semi-permanent eyebrow tattooing has surged in popularity, appealing to everyone from 60-year-old women to 18-year-old girls, and extending beyond women's brows to men's. Its reach continues to broaden, and the results are undeniably stunning!
However, simply getting your brows done doesn't mean you can sit back and wait for results. Remember: 30% of the outcome depends on the technician's skill, while 70% hinges on aftercare. Proper care during the first week post-procedure is crucial—good results follow good maintenance!
Scabs typically form the day after the procedure and naturally shed within 5–7 days. Recovery time varies based on individual constitution and post-procedure care.During recovery, never pick at the scabs, as this can cause scarring.
Let's explore the one-week recovery process and essential care tips for semi-permanent makeup procedures!
Semi-Permanent Eyebrow Tattoo: First Week Guidelines & Restrictions
Day 1: Apply topical anti-inflammatory ointment (e.g., Lip Balm, Aloe Vera Gel) to the treated area to prevent infection. Keep the area clean and dry—avoid water contact. Refrain from seafood and alcohol to prevent allergic reactions or swelling.
Day 2: Eyebrows may appear overly dark—this is normal. Avoid contact with cleansers or water.
Day 3: Scabbing begins, possibly causing mild itching. Do NOT scratch, rub, or pick at the area. Continue applying repair cream as scheduled. Stay indoors and avoid sun exposure, especially during summer!
Day 4: Scabs may not be fully formed yet. Continue applying the repair solution. Some individuals may heal faster and have completely scabbed over.
Day 5: Scabs will start to fall off. At this stage, many girls can't resist the urge—their OCD kicks in, eyebrows itch, hands itch, and they start picking at the scabs! Absolutely do not do this. Let the scabs fall off naturally! Still avoid water contact and refrain from eating spicy foods or seafood.
Day 6: Scabs start falling off in large patches. Keep them dry, don't pick at them, stick to dietary restrictions, and relax—don't worry if your brows look a bit messy now! Haha!
Day 7: Scab shedding is mostly complete. You'll notice the color has faded slightly, but don't worry. After about a month, you can schedule a touch-up with your technician to achieve the perfect microblading result.
Why is touch-up necessary for microblading?
Here's why: The first session tests skin pigment retention and establishes the initial shape. The second session is the formal semi-permanent makeup application. The initial color may appear slightly darker. Scabs form within 3–7 days, and after 28 days, skin metabolism reveals the final pigment absorption level!
After the initial healing phase, you may notice lighter color, patchy areas, or even no color retention—all normal outcomes requiring adjustment through the touch-up session.
Post-Procedure Care and Precautions for Semi-Permanent Eyebrow Makeup:
1. Natural pigments are implanted into the eyebrow area. The color may appear slightly darker before the treated area heals. After healing, the color will gradually fade and become fresh and natural.
2. Avoid exposing the treated area to water or unclean objects during the healing period to prevent infection. Refrain from consuming alcohol, spicy foods, and visiting saunas.
4. Scabs will form on the treated area within 2-3 days. ***Do not pick or remove them manually; allow scabs to fall off naturally.***
5. Scabs will naturally shed around 7-10 days post-treatment. New skin will regenerate within one month.
6. If color satisfaction is low by the fifth week, a touch-up session may be performed.
