Generally, most toothbrushes are made of plastic, with only a small number crafted from animal hair. This is because animal hair is costly and expensive to produce for disposable items. Different toothbrushes also have varying lifespans.
Under normal circumstances, based on twice-daily use, plastic toothbrushes should be replaced every 1-2 months. Animal hair toothbrushes should be replaced after a maximum of one month of use.
Animal-hair brushes contain more protein, making them prone to harboring bacteria in teeth. Plastic brushes, however, are relatively easier to clean and inhibit bacterial growth.
Therefore, remember to replace your toothbrush promptly to protect your teeth. After brushing, thoroughly rinse the brush head with water to minimize toothpaste residue at the base.
If your toothbrush head shows signs of deformation or curling during use, it's no longer suitable for brushing. Replace it immediately to avoid damaging your enamel and oral tissues.
