I. Alumina All-Ceramic Crowns:
These all-ceramic teeth are manufactured using the slip casting method, where alumina slip is applied to a refractory dental model and fired at high temperatures to form the crown.High-strength and tough zirconia all-ceramic crowns have been successfully applied in aerospace heat shields, Porsche brake discs, and artificial transmission belts. Their strength and toughness far exceed those of other known non-metallic porcelain materials.
II. Zirconia All-Ceramic Crowns:
Zirconia is a mineral found naturally as zircon.The strength of all-ceramic crowns has been significantly enhanced, leading to rapid clinical adoption. Their lifelike aesthetic results astonish dentists, who often struggle to distinguish them from natural teeth. Zirconia all-ceramic crowns are fabricated using the slip casting method: zirconia powder slurry is applied to a refractory dental model and sintered at high temperatures to form the crown.
III. Cast All-Ceramic Crowns:
This method involves creating a wax model of the tooth, followed by high-temperature dewaxing. The prepared ceramic block is then melted and pressure-cast into the ring, completing the all-ceramic crown.Simply put, the casting process involves creating the entire crown from a prepared dental model. Cast all-ceramic crowns offer aesthetic appeal, excellent translucency, and refractive properties similar to enamel, resulting in cosmetic outcomes that closely resemble natural teeth.
