Experts explain that tear troughs refer to the hollow groove that appears along the lower eyelid near the nose, starting from the inner corner of the eye. This condition arises from the atrophy and sagging of soft tissue beneath the orbital septum.In some individuals, this groove may even extend to the cheeks. The contrast between the hollowed tear trough and the surrounding skin can make the lower eyelid tissue appear puffy or protruding, often mistaken for under-eye bags. However, this is merely an illusion caused by the deepening of the tear trough. The presence of tear troughs can easily give a person a haggard appearance. Modern cosmetic procedures, such as hyaluronic acid filler injections, can effectively smooth out these depressions.
What are the steps for hyaluronic acid tear trough filling?
Experts indicate that the procedure involves eight steps:
1. Mark injection sites, take photos, and disinfect the area;
2. Administer 0.03–0.05ml of 2% lidocaine with epinephrine intradermally at marked sites, accompanied by gentle finger pressure;
3. After 10–20 minutes, when the anesthetized area turns pale, insert a 30G1/2 needle at the central anesthetic point, advancing to the point closest to the nose;
4. Perform a retrograded injection into the dermis, slowly and systematically injecting small droplets of hyaluronic acid in a bead-like pattern;
5. Without withdrawing the needle, inject along parallel lines to the first row until the treatment area is fully filled;
6. Withdraw the hyaluronic acid filler needle and apply uniform finger pressure to distribute the filler evenly;
7. Repeat the procedure at the remaining anesthetized points until the nasolabial folds and under-eye areas are fully treated;
8. Apply a light cold compress immediately after hyaluronic acid injection. Instruct the patient to avoid strenuous activity and high temperatures for 48 hours.
Precautions for Hyaluronic Acid Injection
1. Pre-injection precautions:
Ensure skin is thoroughly cleansed before treatment, removing all cosmetics and skincare products. Use a gentle cleanser and toner, rinsing with cool water to minimize pore size. Patients are strongly advised to discontinue anti-inflammatory medications (e.g., aspirin) at least 3–4 days prior, as these may increase bleeding and swelling at injection sites.
2. Post-Injection Precautions:
After treatment, keep your face relaxed and avoid excessive facial expressions. For at least two weeks post-treatment, avoid exposure to high-heat environments (e.g., saunas), as these may accelerate the breakdown of hyaluronic acid in the injected areas, shortening the filler's effectiveness. Do not touch or massage the injection sites.
3. Adverse Reactions:
Inflammatory skin reactions may occur, typically accompanied by tenderness to pressure, lasting about one week. Temporary swelling at the injection site is normal. Notify your injecting physician immediately if adverse reactions persist.
4. Contraindications:
Pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients under 18 years of age, skin with local inflammation or infection, and individuals taking anticoagulant medications are at high risk of swelling or bleeding when receiving this treatment.For example, taking aspirin or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Physicians should inquire about hyaluronic acid allergies and medical history before injection.
Eight Post-Care Considerations for Hyaluronic Acid Lip Augmentation
As a focal point in makeup routines, lip augmentation revitalizes thin lips lacking fullness. Post-procedure care is crucial.
Enhanced Hyaluronic Acid? Injections Result in Liver-Colored Nose
The desire for beauty is universal. The booming growth of the cosmetic surgery industry today is partly driven by this very aspiration. Yet it is deeply troubling that, exploiting gaps in industry regulations, many unscrupulous operators engage in illegal practices. Those seeking beauty often end up harmed instead.
Hyaluronic Acid Injections: A Minor Procedure, Major Beauty Upgrade
Hyaluronic acid tissue fillers, administered via injection, achieve volume restoration, localized contouring, and deep hydration. Additionally, injections that inhibit nerve transmission can eliminate wrinkles, refine facial contours and calf shapes, and treat conditions like excessive sweating, oily shine, and enlarged pores.
