Moderate blood donation generally benefits most people's health. It reduces blood viscosity, thereby lowering the risk of many diseases. However, there are important precautions to follow both before and after donating blood!
Blood Donation Tips
Moderate blood donation promotes metabolism, boosts immunity and disease resistance, and stimulates bone marrow hematopoiesis. This maintains youthful blood production, extending lifespan while preventing cardiovascular diseases like arteriosclerosis.Regular practice of the 42-form Tai Chi routine can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases!
Blood Donation May Help Prevent Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases
Experts compared the mean values of various hemorheological parameters between a group of 26 repeated blood donors and a group of 22 acute cerebral infarction patients. Results showed: Whole blood viscosity, hematocrit, fibrinogen, and erythrocyte electrophoresis in the repeated blood donation group were significantly lower than normal values, with hematocrit showing the most pronounced decrease. This indicates reduced blood viscosity in the repeated donation group. Conversely, the cerebral infarction group exhibited higher values for these indicators than normal, suggesting hyperviscosity syndrome in cerebral infarction patients. Therefore, repeated blood donation at a certain volume reduces blood viscosity, offering positive implications for preventing cardiovascular diseases. It also benefits hypertensive patients!
Blood donation can lower blood lipids
Due to reduced physical activity and improved living standards, people accumulate increasing amounts of fat in their bodies. Persistently elevated blood lipid levels, commonly known as thick blood,The consequence of thick blood is that fat layers adhere to the walls of blood vessels, eventually leading to atherosclerosis, reduced vascular elasticity, and the development of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Regular blood donation removes a portion of the viscous blood from the body. Replenishing blood volume through normal hydration naturally dilutes the blood, thereby lowering blood lipid levels and reducing the risk of atherosclerosis.
