If the child's fever stems from yin deficiency, massage therapy can be an effective treatment.
Symptoms of yin deficiency fever primarily include low-grade fever in the afternoon, warmth in the palms and soles, irritability and anger, night sweats, poor appetite with weight loss, dry stools, and dark yellow urine. The tongue appears red with little coating, the pulse is fine and rapid, and fingerprints may show a faint purple hue.
Treatment steps:
1. Tonify the Spleen Meridian: Apply pressure with the thumb pad to rotate and press the pad of the child's thumb 300 times.
2. Tonify the Lung Meridian: Apply pressure with the thumb pad to rotate and press the pad of the child's ring finger 300 times.
3. Rub Two Riders Mounting: Use the thumb tip to rub the depression behind the metacarpophalangeal joint of the ring finger and little finger on the child's hand back 50 times.
4. Rub Kidney Summit: Use the middle finger tip to press and rub the tip of the child's little finger 100 times.
5. Press and knead Zusanli: Use the thumb tip to press and knead the Zusanli point below the knee eye 50 times.
6. Push Yongquan: Using the thumb pad, push from the Yongquan point on the sole toward the toes 50 times.
