How is eyebrow tattooing performed?
Eyebrows are a crucial element of facial aesthetics. Symmetrical, well-defined, appropriately thick, and beautifully shaped brows play a vital role in harmonizing and balancing facial features. Eyebrow tattooing applies cosmetic tattooing techniques to the eyebrow area, combining medical aesthetics with artistic design. So, what does the actual procedure entail?
1. Before the procedure, the aesthetician will sketch an ideal brow shape based on the individual's natural brow structure, personal temperament, and aesthetic preferences. The area is then disinfected using cotton swabs soaked in 1:1000 benzalkonium chloride solution or 75% alcohol.
2. Anesthesia is generally not required during the procedure. Clients typically experience only mild pricking sensations, with pain levels easily tolerable.For individuals with heightened sensitivity to pain, a 1% lidocaine cotton pad can be applied to the eyebrow area during the procedure to significantly reduce discomfort.
3. Throughout the process, both the technician and client should continuously monitor the color application and eyebrow shape. Any unsatisfactory areas can be promptly corrected by further tattooing until the desired result is achieved. Each eyebrow typically takes 15–20 minutes to complete.Immediately after the procedure, the eyebrow color may appear slightly darker. Typically, within about one week, after a thin layer of scab peels off, the true color will be established, appearing realistic and natural. If the color seems too light after scab removal, a second touch-up session can be performed to achieve a more perfect eyebrow shape. 4. After completing the eyebrow tattooing, apply a layer of antibiotic ointment to the area to prevent infection and the formation of thick scabs.
