Gonorrhea can spread via ocular secretions, while sepsis is transmitted through blood. During eyebrow or eyeliner tattooing, skin breaks and bleeding create opportunities for infection by these diseases.
While not everyone who gets eyebrow or eyeliner tattoos will be infected, one must never take chances. Ophthalmologists and dermatologists generally discourage these invasive cosmetic procedures.
