As we age, lip lines become more pronounced and lip color fades, making us appear less vibrant. Lip tattooing is said to address these concerns, enhancing lips to appear more alluring and captivating. So how much do you know about lip tattooing?
Lip tattooing uses embroidery techniques to recreate the youthful lip contour. The process involves inserting red pigment into the dermis layer of the skin with needles to shape the desired lip arch. However, achieving optimal results also requires diligent post-procedure care. So, how should you care for your lips after lip tattooing?
1. Swelling immediately after the procedure is normal. Apply an ice pack for up to 24 hours to reduce swelling, and take anti-inflammatory medication for 3-4 days to ease the discomfort.
2. After meals, cleanse the lips with a cotton swab dipped in distilled water. Apply scar prevention cream and lip balm approximately four times daily. Avoid hot compresses for one month after scab removal. Honey compresses can be used to moisturize the lips.
3. Avoid spicy or irritating foods for one week post-procedure to prevent scarring. Take Bovis Bile Tablets orally twice daily to maintain regular bowel movements.
4. Refrain from lip care routines during the first 7 days after scab detachment, as the delicate skin is prone to infection.
5. Avoid contact with tap water immediately after lip tattooing, and refrain from touching the lips to prevent bacterial infection.
6. Do not peel off scabs that form on the lips after tattooing; allow them to fall off naturally to prevent scarring.
7. Lip color may appear lighter immediately after scab removal but will gradually deepen over one month—no need for concern.
