1. Before washing, comb your hair thoroughly while massaging your scalp with the comb. Then rinse your hair with clean water to remove dust, dirt, and dandruff. This reduces shampoo usage during washing, minimizing scalp irritation.
2.Apply a dime-sized amount of shampoo to your palm, add water, and gently lather. Apply the foam to your scalp and hair, then rinse thoroughly. Repeat this process twice to thoroughly cleanse both scalp and hair. Never apply shampoo directly to your head and scrub, as this can cause localized overconcentration of shampoo on the scalp. Over time, this may lead to abnormal hair loss.
3. Wash your hair using circular motions while massaging the scalp with fingertips to stimulate blood circulation. Never scratch the scalp with fingernails, as this can cause injury. Those with oily scalps should focus on cleansing the roots, while those with dry scalps should avoid prolonged washing to prevent excessive shampoo contact time.
4. Rinse shampoo thoroughly with ample water. Residual shampoo can cause scalp irritation. However, avoid using excessively hot water, as high temperatures can strip the scalp of moisture and cause dryness. If concerned about residue, rinse multiple times with lukewarm or cool water instead.
Additionally, those with dandruff may use medicated shampoo, but the washing technique differs slightly. After the first wash, rinse hair thoroughly. For the second wash, do not rinse immediately. Allow the shampoo lather to remain on the scalp for 5–10 minutes to maximize the medication's effectiveness.
