1. Different Technical Principles
IPL and photorejuvenation share the same underlying principle: utilizing specific wavelengths through a multi-pulse design—which may involve a single or multiple light sources—to leverage the selective photothermolysis and photostimulation effects of intense pulsed light for skin brightening and rejuvenation. Fractional laser, however, operates on the principle of focal photothermal effects.

Fractional laser uses laser energy with a single wavelength, concentrating energy at a focal point. Broadly speaking, IPL falls under photonic technology, employing intense pulsed light within the 560–1200nm range. Photonic skin rejuvenation spans wavelengths from 500–1200nm, offering a broader spectrum but without energy concentration.
