Experts indicate that for non-infectious vaginal discharge disorders, eliminating triggers suffices—such as reducing panty liner use and maintaining regular eating habits. For infectious conditions, which constitute the vast majority of abnormal discharge cases, appropriate medication must be selected based on the specific type of infection.
1. For abnormal discharge due to fungal vaginitis, symptoms include severe itching of the vulva, vaginal stinging pain, and increased discharge resembling cottage cheese or curdled milk. Nystatin suppositories (10,000 units) can be inserted vaginally once daily at night for a 10-day course, serving as a common treatment for this condition.
2. Trichomoniasis: Abnormal vaginal discharge is the most common symptom. It is accompanied by vulvar itching and stinging, sometimes with a crawling sensation. Discharge volume increases significantly, appearing frothy white with a sour odor. Metronidazole tablets (200mg) can be taken three times daily.
3. Bacterial vaginosis causes yellowish, foul-smelling discharge accompanied by vulvar redness, burning pain, and urinary symptoms like frequent urination, urgency, and dysuria. Treatment options include: - Zengxiao Lianhuang tablets: 2 tablets three times daily; or - Cefalexin (Cefalexin): 1 gram two to three times daily. Each course lasts 7 days.
