Is using saline solution to wipe the lips considered getting them wet?
After lip tattooing, you can gently clean the area with saline solution. This does not count as getting the lips wet. Getting them wet refers to cleaning with a large amount of water. When washing your face, avoid the lip area. However, using a cotton swab dipped in a small amount of saline solution to gently wipe the lips is acceptable.
Post-procedure care instructions:
1. Apply indirect cold compresses for swelling within 24 hours post-procedure and take anti-inflammatory medication for 3-4 days.
2. After meals, cleanse lips with a cotton swab dipped in distilled water, then apply scar prevention cream and lip balm 3-4 times daily. Avoid hot compresses for the first month after scab removal. Honey compresses may be used to moisturize lips.
4. Avoid applying any lipstick for the first week after scab removal. Keep the area away from tap water and refrain from touching the lips to prevent bacterial infection.
5. Do not peel off scabs manually; allow them to fall off naturally to prevent scarring. The color will appear lighter immediately after scab removal but will deepen after one month. If touch-ups are needed, schedule them 2-3 months post-procedure.
