Herbal medicine can also cause poisoning if taken improperly. So what are the emergency treatments for herbal poisoning? Below is a brief introduction to some antidotes for herbal poisoning.
1. Remedy for papaya poisoning: Mix an appropriate amount of good vinegar with brown sugar (or red sugar), hold it in your mouth, spit out the saliva, and repeat several times until cured.
2. Remedy for pinellia poisoning: Boil an appropriate amount of ginger in water and drink the cooled decoction.
3. Remedy for Sichuan pepper poisoning: Drink an appropriate amount of rice vinegar to neutralize the effects.
4. Remedy for bitter almond poisoning: Boil an appropriate amount of apricot tree root bark into a decoction and drink it. This can even save those who are delirious and near death.
5. Remedy for ginkgo poisoning: Boil an appropriate amount of ginkgo shells in water to make a decoction, then drink it warm.
6. Antivenom for centipede poisoning: Decoct an appropriate amount of camphor tree leaves in water and drink cold. Extremely effective.Improper treatment not only causes suffering but may lead to lasting complications or even death. Mild poisoning symptoms include impaired consciousness, drowsiness, restlessness, nausea, vomiting, foaming at the mouth, and cyanosis of the lips. Severe poisoning may cause coma, unresponsiveness to calls, fixed eyes, constricted pupils, and incontinence.
Treatment
1. Administer acute poisoning emergency protocols.
2. Based on the patient's symptoms and any remaining medication bottles/packages found nearby, swiftly identify the toxic substance. For suspected suicides, search for suicide notes. When children ingest medication by mistake, patiently and thoroughly inquire to determine the drug name and dosage for emergency treatment. If the specific poison cannot be immediately identified, still follow acute poisoning emergency principles: induce vomiting, perform gastric lavage, administer cathartics, and use antidotes to rapidly remove toxins and prevent absorption.
3. Maintain airway patency. Prevent aspiration of vomit into the trachea by turning the head to one side and promptly clearing any vomitus.
4. For individuals without breathing or a pulse, immediately perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and external cardiac compression.
