1. Poor hygiene habits, such as taking baths during menstruation, are common triggers. Menstruation lowers resistance, and soaking the lower body in water allows pathogens to ascend through the vagina into internal reproductive organs. Swimming during menstruation further facilitates bacterial entry into the vagina, potentially reaching the uterus and fallopian tubes to cause inflammation.
2. Unhygienic masturbation. Dirty fingers or contaminated devices may harbor pathogens, including sexually transmitted infections like gonorrhea or mycoplasma. Massaging the clitoris or inserting such items into the vagina can introduce bacteria, causing inflammation. If treatment is delayed and the appendix becomes abscessed, inflammatory exudate can flow into the pelvic cavity, causing salpingitis. Acute enteritis can allow intestinal pathogens to spread via lymphatic vessels to the reproductive organs, causing genital inflammation. Tuberculosis bacteria can enter the pelvic cavity through the bloodstream; intestinal tuberculosis bacteria can directly invade the reproductive organs, causing genital tuberculosis.
