4. Avoid alcohol
While many once believed drinking before bed promotes sleep, recent studies show it may induce rapid sleep onset but keeps sleep confined to the light sleep phase, making it difficult to enter deep sleep. Thus, even after long hours of sleep, drinkers often wake feeling fatigued.
5. Avoid greasy foods
Greasy foods increase the workload on the intestines, stomach, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. They also stimulate the nervous system, potentially leading to insomnia.
