In many people's minds, tooth extraction is a terrifying experience, so many avoid it altogether, fearing intense pain. With advances in medical technology, minimally invasive extraction techniques have gradually entered our lives, helping to reduce the discomfort associated with tooth removal.
The minimally invasive extraction tool was invented and designed by professional dentists to minimize damage during dental procedures. Its thin, sharp working end compresses the alveolar bone, severs the periodontal ligament, and gently removes the tooth without requiring the force of a dental elevator. This approach minimizes damage to periodontal tissues, accelerates healing, and reduces anxiety for both doctors and patients.
Teeth are positioned within alveolar sockets, meaning they are normally surrounded by alveolar bone. Modern extraction philosophy holds that the goal is not to pull teeth out of the jawbone, but to allow them to exit the alveolar socket. Research shows that after tooth removal, the alveolar bone undergoes remodeling. During this process, both the height and width of the alveolar bone change, with some degree of resorption occurring.

Traditional extraction commonly employs forceps, elevators, and hammers. The frequent use of hammer strikes during extraction not only causes significant intraoperative trauma and severe postoperative reactions with marked alveolar bone resorption, but also subjects patients to considerable pain during the procedure. In severe cases, this can lead to dental anxiety.
Minimally invasive extraction employs specialized instruments, primarily elevators and gingival separators, typically crafted from high-carbon steel. These tools minimize damage to surrounding gingival tissue while utilizing wedge force to penetrate the space between the tooth and alveolar bone. They sever the periodontal ligament connecting the tooth to the alveolar socket and expand the gap, thereby dislodging the tooth from its socket.
