In today's information-driven society, computers have become indispensable protagonists in both work and daily life. As more people spend extended hours with computers, a range of "computer-related ailments" have emerged—including dry eye syndrome, cervical spondylosis, and declining vision. Over time, both your body and eyes will protest. So what can you do about prolonged computer use?Below are four recommended teas and traditional Chinese eye massage techniques that both counteract radiation and protect your eyes.
What foods alleviate eye fatigue?
1. Green Bell Peppers
Green bell peppers are rich in vitamins, carbohydrates, fiber, calcium, phosphorus, iron, and other nutrients. They boast the highest vitamin C content among vegetables.
2. Jujubes
Jujubes are exceptionally nutritious, containing 14 beneficial amino acids and vitamin levels dozens of times higher than apples or bananas. They are known as "living vitamin pills."
3. Spinach
Spinach contains protein, fat, carbohydrates, crude fiber, calcium, phosphorus, iron, carotene, riboflavin, and more. It is not only a highly nutritious vegetable but also an excellent eye-protecting food.Their acidic nature helps preserve vitamin C, making it less prone to destruction during cooking. 5. Chinese Chives Chinese chives are rich in provitamin A and vitamin C, along with protein, fat, calcium, phosphorus, iron, fiber, and volatile oils. They also contain antibiotics, offering flavor enhancement and antibacterial effects.
Massage techniques can also alleviate eye fatigue:
1. Pressing the Qīngmíng Points
The Qīngmíng points are located on both sides of the inner eye corners, in the slight indentation just above the inner canthus. Apply pressure with your thumbs, directing force upward toward the head until a mild aching sensation occurs. Hold for about ten seconds, release, then repeat several times.
2. Circular Massage on the Temples
The temples are located on the sides of the head, in the indentation about one finger-width behind the outer corners of the eyebrows and outer eye corners. Make fists with both hands, keeping the thumbs raised. Use the tips of the thumbs to apply circular pressure on the temples. Each session should last about 3 minutes.
3. Scraping the Eye Sockets
Numerous vital acupoints surround the eye sockets, such as Zanzhu (BL2), Yuyao (BL1), and Sizhukong (BL1) on the upper orbital rim, and Chengqi (BL2), Tongziliang (BL1), and others on the lower orbital rim. Appropriate stimulation of these points benefits both eye disease treatment and eye health maintenance. This step can be combined with the previous one. After massaging the temples with your thumbs, keep them stationary in the hollows. Then, using the sides of your two bent index fingers, scrape the upper and lower eye sockets in a circular motion from the inner corner to the outer corner. Typically, 50 scrapes are sufficient.
