Premature placental abruption can cause bleeding and infection, leading to fetal hypoxia in utero and potentially fatal outcomes.
The most common triggers are conditions like hypertension and chronic nephritis, followed by direct or indirect trauma such as falls, bites, vibrations, heavy lifting, abdominal impacts, excessive coughing, external version, and short umbilical cord. Additionally, women with a history of placental abruption, multiparous women, and those with uterine endometrial trauma are also prone to this condition.
Pregnant women with these conditions who experience sudden severe abdominal pain, abdominal distension, with or without vaginal bleeding, accompanied by a decrease or cessation of fetal movement during late pregnancy may be experiencing placental abruption. Therefore, pregnant women should pay particular attention to self-care during late pregnancy. If severe abdominal pain occurs, seek immediate medical diagnosis and appropriate treatment to avoid delaying care and endangering the fetus.
