4. During months 4–5 of pregnancy, fetal brain cells remain in a rapid developmental peak, occasionally exhibiting memory traces;
5. Starting from the sixth month, sulci begin to appear on the fetal brain surface, and the layered structure of the cerebral cortex is largely established;
6. By the seventh month, the neural pathways governing perception and movement are relatively well-developed, and the brain begins to possess the capacity for thought and memory;
7. By the eighth month, the fetal cerebral cortex is more developed, and the major sulci on the brain surface are fully formed.
Research indicates that by the sixth month of pregnancy, the fetal brain already contains 14 billion brain cells—essentially the total number of brain cells present throughout its lifetime. The subsequent task lies solely in enhancing the quality of these brain cells; attempting to increase their quantity at this stage is likely futile.

Of course, the fetal brain remains immature, particularly as the crucial meninges are not yet fully formed—a process that typically completes around age 10 post-birth. Expectant parents should be mindful of this during prenatal education, avoiding impatience for quick results, as haste only hinders progress.
